Consulting Services
William Swetcharnik, artist and director of the Latin American Art Resource Project advises education and development projects oriented toward traditional practices and sustainable materials. As a Senior Fulbright Specialist, he can be requested outside the USA via the local US Embassy. For all other art resource consulting, he may be engaged directly, solo or accompanied by trained staff.
Art resource services include the following categories. As may be seen in the ARC Information Forum, these categories may often be combined in an integrated approach.
- Art resource workshops for artists, artisans, and/or art educators
- Workshops and curricular consulting for art schools and pedagogical universities
- Creation of teacher training materials, training of art resource educators
- Facilitation of low-cost, artisanally produced art materials for school systems
- Development of art-resource based environmental management planning
- Field study projects documenting regional art traditions and natural resources
- Development of cultural and ecological tourism based on regional art traditions
- Research and creation of art resource exhibitions showcasing regional traditions
- Coordination between regional and international cultural and educational entities
In some cases, exhibitions of art work by William Swetcharnik can also be arranged in combination with consulting and workshop activities. These exhibitions demonstrate some uses of indigenous Mesoamerican resources and may also include examples of indigenous artistic traditions.
